cultural classes

A packed program included cultural classes of calligraphy (both classes I missed - fell asleep), Chinese painting, and taichi. Oh, and singing. This interesting folk song was one of the songs. True romance. Speaking of Chinese songs - this song was sung many times during the study trip, and then Korean Air was playing it during pre-flight from Seoul to Shanghai. When I think of China now, Teresa Teng is playing in the background telling me the moon represents her heart. (Though surely more romantic than tender lashings on a little 'lamb'? Hah.

bike riding on the xi'an city wall

I've been back in Australia for five days now, after a week in Korea, but apparently the catalyst for updating is having a long day at uni. With each semester, each painful two hour lecture, I slip further and further away from wanting a career in law. It makes me so tired. At this point I don't know if it's law or just university. I've only had one day of uni and I'm already exhausted. Exchange next year cannot come fast enough.

One of my favourite days on the tour was definitely when we went bike riding on Xi'an City Wall. Since I started gymming, I've come to really enjoy pushing my endurance. Result: first in our group of nineteen to complete the 13km ride. Yeah!

xi'an part i

I've spent the past two weeks in Xi'an, through a study tour organised by my university and Xi'an Jiaotong University. XJTU was so incredibly lovely and thoughtful. They didn't spare any expenses in looking after us. It felt like one long glorious camp. (Though with too many Chinese classes and - lest I say it - too much alcohol.)
